GENERAL INFORMATION

Members of the group have enjoyed having educational and community service projects
throughout the years, as well as some that have been just for fun.

Current group activities are described below. In the past we have had many other functions,
such as Doll Quilt & Wall Quilt Sales (fund raisers), "Secret Sisters,"  fabric challenges,
theme challenges, quilt shop drawing blocks, etc. We are always evaluating the things
we do and are willing to try new and varied activities.

FALL  FESTIVAL
Patchin' People Quilters presents a Fall Festival each autumn.
A guest speaker gives a lecture after a dinner and then
presents a workshop the next day or two.

      from the previous festivals.

RAFFLE QUILTS
Patchin' People has had many raffle quilts through the years.

BLOCKS OF THE MONTH

Current BOM Project

We are being detectives and trying to solve the year-long Mystery Quilt project!

Previous Years
Over the years, the group has presented various Blocks of the Month projects, including
a techniques sampler, sewing theme sampler, decorated canvas bags, folded triangles
technique and crazy quilt techniques.
Click here to visit the Gallery for previous years' projects. You'll enjoy them----they are
wonderful!

UFO  PROJECTS
Members are challenged to finish some of their "old" projects. Lynn McCreight is the
chair of this project. Contact her to obtain a sign-up form. All projects are to be started
prior to Jan 1, 2007 and completed (with label!) by the April 2008 meeting.

COMMUNITY  SERVICE  QUILTS  AND  PROJECTS

Through the years, Patchin' People as a group as well as our individual members, have
made and presented hundreds of quilts of all sizes to various community organizations.
Block patterns are occasionally given out at meetings to facilitate production and
uniformity of blocks  for some quilts.
Members also work on projects at home.   Everyone's efforts are greatly appreciated!
And the recipients are extremely grateful and pleased.

Donations of fabrics, batting and thread are always welcome.

Join us and bring your unwanted fabrics (yikes----do we have any???), general sewing supplies,
cutting equipment, sewing machines, etc.

quilts that will soon have a loving home.

DRAWING  BLOCKS

We occasionally make "drawing blocks," where members make as many blocks as
they wish according to fabric and pattern guidelines. For each block made, the
quiltmakers' names are put into a "hat" to draw out a winner of the blocks.
Sometimes there are enough blocks for two and three winners!
Two drawings this fall are a Shoo-Fly block using reproduction fabrics--drawing
will be at the Fall Festival on October 8.
Another drawing for blocks will be at the December luncheon meeting.
Watch for further information.

SUMMER    BLOCK    EXCHANGE

Beginning in 2000, interested members of Patchin' People have participated in this summer project.
Each person makes a given amount of the same block pattern using different fabrics.  The group
meets six to eight times throughout the summer to exchange blocks with each other.
Voila! Instead of each member making all the blocks for their own quilt, they have many blocks
with interesting fabric combinations made by other members of the group.
The challenge has been to find a suitable block that can be exchanged six to eight times.
The first year, the block was nine-patch, year two was pinwheels, year three was summer gardeners,
and year four was batik beauties.
Group participation has been around fifteen each time.

SMALL  GROUPS

(Listed in alphabetical Order)

"Under Construction" -- please check back later

Needlers

We are a small group that meets the first and third Mondays of each month.
We meet in members' homes and work on both our own projects. When working on
larger group projects, we also meet at The Quilted Heart in Pullman.
as group designs. We recently were responsible for designing and creating
the 2004 Raffle quilt
Sometimes members demonstrate various techniques and/or patterns--a
tablerunner, for example.
We welcome any new members and guests.
Our next meeting will be at Joan Budd's home in Uniontown on Oct. 20th.

Stitch 'n' Study

We are a small group dedicated to challenging our quilting skills and to learning
more about all quilting arts. We meet in members' homes the first and third Thursday
of each month. We work on our own projects, gifts for other members of the group, and in the
past have been responsible for raffle quilts for the group as well as quilts for our community.
Because we meet in homes, membership is limited and at present we are full.

The Quilting Queens

We meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month at The Quilted Heart.
If there is a fifth Wednesday, we usually meet as well. Some Saturdays are also being planned.
We work on our own projects but are discussing doing a group project.
We also plan some meetings with a potluck.
Current members are: Nancy Mack, Jan Sharp, Goldie Banks, Sandra Martin,
Christine Pollastro, Barbara Johnson and Martha Copp.
We welcome visitors.
Members are selected by the group after having a chance to interact with newcomers.

We Quilt Too

This group has been very active in previous years. The group is now not active.
